Description
These brushes are made from selected durable Chinese hog bristle, ideal for full-bodied oil paints, as well as alkyds and acrylics. Bristles are specially curved for shape retention. The handles have a green stained natural wood finish protected by four coats of lacquer. The naturally curved bristle are handset into seamless corrosion resistant nickel plated ferrules. ABOUT ROUNDS: Round shapes brushes are one of the most commonly used in painting.. Smaller round brushes are perfect for adding intricate detail, they have a close gathering of bristles, with a round or pointed tip, making them great for sketching, filling in small spaces, and creating linework. By adjusting the pressure on the brush, you can easily switch between thin and thick lines. Larger sizes are useful for filling in large areas, and a perfect tool for applying texture mediums. ABOUT BRIGHTS: Great for short, controlled strokes, the BRIGHT paint brush style is coarse and great for thick brushwork! The shorter, evenly-shaped hairs of bright brushes are ideal for easily controlling heavy and thick applications of paint with succinct strokes. Bright brushes can create crisp, clean lines and can be used for blending. ABOUT FLATS: Excellent for producing long, smooth strokes allowing for a sense of gesture and motion in the application paint. When used with quality oil or acrylic paints, this can be a useful tool in highlighting the rich colour of the pigment. Flat brushes can also produce solid lines in varying thickness depending on weight, when used on their side. ABOUT FANS: Fans a useful brush shape for blending paint already on the surface – In particular areas where you’re looking for a blurred effect or to make a gradient change appear smooth and subtle. Their thin bristles are also perfect for creating natural looking highlights in darker areas by applying thin, dry pigment. Equally useful for adding texture. Fan shapes can be applied to a surface in a multitude of ways beyond standard brush strokes. Applying pigment in different motions with a fan brush can be an effective tool in creating a sense of depth or motion in mixed-media work due to the broad arrangement of the bristles. Fan brushes fan also be useful for creating stippling or splattering effects when the pigment is applied to the surface in a tapping motion.
